All Nine Of Selena Gomez's 2011 EMA Outfits

Selena Gomez

Sigh. Isn't she LOVELY? If you had any doubt in your mind that Selena Gomez wasn't an absolute dynamo, look no further than the incredible hosting job that the double-threat positively NAILED at the 2011 EMA in Belfast. She stunned on the "pink carpet" in a white, feather-filigree, Marchesa confection and flitted effortlessly between a retro '70s backless, red sequined onesie to high-waisted sailor shorts and a pique polo to drive a golf ball into the crowd, shimmied into a purple romper, set fire to the stage in a blaze of pyro and a printed maxi skirt and. So. Much. More.

Dizzying really. Let's gallivant through all NINE ensembles and count the very many ways in which Justin Bieber is a SUPER lucky dude...

Selena Gomez - BACKLESS RED JUMPSUIT

Selena Gomez

Selena's skin is no joke and though her enviably glowing skin is complement enough for The Blonds bright-red, shimmery, cinched waist jumpsuit, fashion nerds will LOVE that she's also stunting in a Grainne Maher cascading gold necklace, a local Belfast milliner and jeweler behind the Pluck and Devour line. Oh yeah, and she's also wearing insane, round-toed platforms that from this angle totes look like Louboutin Daffodils.

Selena Gomez - BEJEWELED SHORTS AND ULTRAMARINE BOOTIES

Selena Gomez

There's something to be said for youth. There's another to be said for good genes. And more still to be said typically using many, many expletives about how unfair it is that Selena Gomez is endearing and quick while being a total 100 percent bombshell. Those gams. The dazzling micro shorts. The fact that she can wear an outfit that could be tucked into just one of those ultramarine booties while still looking wholesome...wonderful.

Selena Gomez - STUDDED LEATHER BUSTIER AND FIRE

Selena Gomez

This was definitely an action-packed segment and it's reflected in the badassness of S. Go's studded leather bustier and bondage chocker-ish adornments. The whole look is softened by the drape in this diaphanous, printed, maxi skirt and then rendered extremely sexy again (GOOD GOD, CAN I SAY THAT ABOUT A CHILD???) by a daring slit that ends nigh-hooha. There was also a GANG of fire that made some of us fret about the safety of her hair because it looks like it would smell like apples.

Selena Gomez - GOLF GETUP

Selena Gomez

If you've ever worked at a Red Lobster or similar, you would know that there's something very unforgiving about the box cut of a pique polo, like the three-button red number that you see here. I have no doubt in my mind that this is not a wholesale blank ordered from a commercial kitchen supply catalog like the one some of us have worn in our dark and seedy pasts, like, NOT EVEN CLOSE, but she does look exceptional in the simplest of togs. Coupled with sailor shorts and argyle socks, even a clownish, neon, tartan Tam o'Shanter would look attractive on your girl.

Selena Gomez - PERFORMANCE PEEKABOO SEQUIN ONESIE

Selena Gomez

Purple. Performance. Peekaboo. Alliteration is fun. Getting to have an inner thigh that looks like this whilst TELEVISED is funner. Probably. WHO KNOWS? I DO NOT. Here is our singing, dancing, actress host belting for AMERICA in a smattering of sequins and suede knee boots. Kinda my favorite part of this shot? Her friggin' adorable free paw that's splayed in abject determination. I don't know why, kills me.

Selena Gomez - ACID BUBBLES

Selena Gomez

Selena is a master at balance and there's some real science going on in the fact that this acid green gathered bubble skirt number doesn't look vom or gross. The color, while challenging, is offset by her phosphorescent freakshowamazing skin, the delicateness of the almost (but not cartoonishly so) sweetheart neckline, subtle boning, and expertly gathered cummerbund. She is also completely correct in pulling her hair back to show off her MASSIVE pendant ("Oh this? Yeah, other, lesser jewels just orbit it because they cannot help themselves, NO BIG DEAL."). I love the slalom that your eyes do over this 'fit. You start at her shoulders, zig in, zag out a bit, zig in again, and zag out for a final time to the balloon of the skirt that does not dwarf her because it's SHORT. Good stuff.

Selena Gomez - COWL-NECK PICNIC DRESS

Selena Gomez

Selena has what looks like a harness made of jewelry but that's not even The Big Show. The NEWS is that there's also a delectable slice of watermelon printed on the dress that is accompanied by a whole assortment of other things that interest me greatly because after shoes, food is mostly what I think about. So even though I am loving these sparkly, 5-inch peep-toes I am also transfixed by trying to find a hulking great spiral-sliced ham on her dress too. Especially if there are biscuits studded with bits of cheese.

Selena Gomez - BRONZE PANTS ROBOT HEAD

Selena Gomez

Who owns this many glitter heels? OBVI only people who rule. Dipped in skintight pleather bronze ankle leggings (pleaggings?), Gomez not only has the perfect strappy joint that essentially becomes an ANKLET for her pantses, she also makes it all look VERY PULLED together with a decapitated bot head as the centerpiece. An iridescent shrunken jacket doesn't hurt either.

Selena Gomez - WHITE ON PINK CARPET

Selena Gomez

Seriously, this may be my favorite look that I've seen Selena Gomez in all year. Absolutely smitten with the silhouette, the detail, and the fact that it is elegant and ladylike without the slightest suggestion of anything matronly, this Marchesa fits her like a dream and you can tell that it makes her feel incredible. Sounds hopelessly banal but confidence really does make all the difference. Also, the GOBS of money and success that finds you in Marchesa. LALALALALALA. Yum.
