Tory MP Nadine Dorries has signed up for 'I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here!'.

The serving Mid Bedfordshire MP will anger Prime Minister David Cameron and her constituents by taking almost a month off work to enter the Australian jungle when the ITV1 show returns to TV screens later this month.

A source said: "I'm sure Mr. Cameron will keep a close eye on what she has to say in there."

The TaxPayers' Alliance said: "While Nadine Dorries is playing at being a Z-list celebrity in the jungle, her constituents will be left without an MP to represent them in Parliament. There is serious work to do in Westminster which can make a real difference to the lives of her constituents.

"If she does not want that job she should get out of the way for someone who does. This is yet more evidence that people should have the power to sack MPs who let them down."

However, Nadine - who once dubbed the prime minister and Chancellor George Osbourne "arrogant posh boys" - has defended her decision, saying it's important people should be watching her and hearing her opinions.

She said: "I'm doing the show because 16 million people watch it. If people are watching 'I'm A Celebrity', that is where MPs should be going.

"I'm not going in there to upset people, but I have opinions."

Nadine will be joined in the Australian outback by the likes of actresses Helen Flanagan, Charlie Brooks and Linda Robson, boxer David Haye, former 'Dr Who' star Colin Baker and 'Made In Chelsea' star Hugo Taylor.
